Kayak-a-thon set for charities Posted April 3, 2009 Charity West Palm invites kayak enthusiasts to paddle for a cause Saturday, April 18. The 15-mile kayaking event will raise money for Reef Rescue, a watchdog organization for the state’s coral reefs, and Shake-A-Leg, an organization that works with mentally and physically handicapped children in a marine environment. Kayakers are asked to raise money by having friends and family sponsor them for the event, which starts at Adventure Times Kayak Center, 521 Northlake Blvd. in North Palm Beach. Adventure Times will have equipment available for up to 80 participants, or people can use their own.
