Dr. Rose Bellanca has joined Northwood University as the Florida campus' second provost, succeeding John Haynie who retired in August.
Bellanca comes from St. Clair County Community College of Michigan where she served as president since 2002.
Before St. Clair's, she was provost of Macomb Community College of Michigan from 1996-2002, and vice president for planning development prior to that role. Bellanca also taught at Macomb Community College and Wayne State University.
"Dr. Bellanca brings an impressive range of experience and an enthusiastic attitude to Northwood University," said President and CEO Keith A. Pretty. "She has more than 12 years of experience in college administration and over 30 years in education."
"Northwood's ideals of professionalism, quality and service as well as its focus on student success have always been high on my list of values to be practiced," said Bellanca.
At St. Clair's, Bellanca raised more than $12.5 million in private and public funding.
At Wayne State, Bellanca earned her bachelor's degree in family life education, her master's degree in education and industrial arts, and her doctoral degree in administration and organizational studies.
